We do service and installation of conventional tank storage water heaters, including standard, hybrid, and Marathon lifetime heaters. Additionally, we perform service and installation of gas and electric tankless water heaters, although, if you’re planning to go tankless, we recommend only doing so if you have gas to your property.
A tankless water heater is a great option for someone who is concerned about the efficiency of their appliances, their energy costs, and having unlimited hot water. Where conventional tank storage water heaters continuously keep a set amount of water heated, tankless water heaters only heat the water as they are needed, potentially reducing energy use by around 30%. While the cost of the unit and installation is more than a conventional tank storage water heater, the savings over the lifetime of the heater will easily cover the difference.
There are three main varieties of conventional tank storage water heaters, and we service them all! These heaters are produced for electric as well as for varies types of gas.
The most basic of these water heaters keeps a set amount of water in the tank and it is then heated by two heating elements, and upper and a lower which are controlled by two thermostats, turning on one element at a time.
A gas water heater is controlled by gas coming into your home and being ignited underneath the tank and the heat from that burner is passed through the tank, heating up the water. These types of water heaters are very efficient and long lasting. These water heaters also have a tank for storage, and are controlled, turning on and off, by a thermostat monitoring the temperature.
The hybrid version of the tank storage water heater uses a heat pump, similar to what you would find in your air conditioner, and pulls heat from the air to help provide heat to the tank simultaneously with the standard heating elements. Especially in Florida and in a garage, these water heaters are unmatched. Pulling lots of heat from the air, storing that heat in the water tank, and emitting cold air in return. Its like an air conditioner for your garage! (Kind of).
Finally, a lifetime tank heater is a plastic tank which includes a lifetime warranty. A plastic tank means no chance of corrosion, or rust. While elements and thermostats may need to be replaced every so often, the tank is touted to last “for as long as a person would own a home.”
No matter what your needs or your budget, we have something that will fit. We always make sure things are done right and the plumbing at your property is brought up to code as required, including a shut off to your water heater, a pan and temperature and pressure relief valve draining to the outside (when necessary), and a pressure relief valve or expansion tank installed for your domestic cold water. We always pay attention to the details and make sure that the jobs are done right the first time. Looking to update or repair your water heater? Give us a call to schedule an appointment.
